This Advocacy course will teach you the skills required to advocate for or represent clients in the health or community sector.
This skill set has been developed for anyone with experience or qualifications in community services or health sector roles and seeking to broaden their skills.
Course Support
This interactive course includes extensive trainer support from industry experts to help you achieve your goals.
You will have the chance to attend weekly live online classes and also live chat sessions. During these, you will learn additional skills that will either clarify or enhance your learning from the course.
These weekly live classes and chat sessions will also allow you to ask questions and interact with fellow students.
You will also learn the strategies and skills needed to support the interests and rights of clients and provide advocacy and representation services.

Duration
The CHCSS00069 Advocacy Skill Set runs for two months, but you can complete it faster than this if you wish.
Delivery & Support
The course is delivered entirely online via e-learning, recorded videos, links, and downloadable tools and activities. In addition, you can attend optional periodic online group chat sessions hosted by Australian Industry experienced trainers and assessors.
Learners are required to have a supervisor in their community services/health field sign their third-party assessments to confirm tasks are performed in the workplace.
Subjects
There are two subjects in the CHCSS00069 Advocacy Skill Set.
CHCADV001 – Facilitate the interests and rights of clients
CHCADV002 – Provide advocacy and representation services
Assessment
There are no exams in the CHCSS00069 Advocacy Skill Set.
You test your learning by completing quiz questions and open book self-paced assessment activities throughout each subject. All subjects include a free re-submission if you are not successful on your first attempt.
During your course, you may also complete a range of ‘on-the-job’ workplace-based assessments.
If you already have the skills and knowledge required to attain any (or all) of these subjects, you might like to enrol as ‘Assessment Only.’ This Recognition of Prior Learning means you don’t have to study those subjects again, instead just doing the assessments for a reduced course price.
